Dog boarding

Dog boarding in Amsterdam, in a real home

Travelling means leaving someone behind. In Amsterdam, Guauly connects you with neighbours who care for your dog for free, and pro sitters with a nightly rate — at home, with company.

Why home boarding beats a kennel

Kennels are stressful for dogs and expensive for owners. Guauly flips the model — your dog stays in someone's home, someone who chose to be there because they love dogs. With the community, at no cost.

Questions owners ask

How far in advance should I find a holiday sitter in Amsterdam?▾

For summer holidays and Christmas, we recommend starting 3–4 weeks in advance — those are the busiest periods in Amsterdam. For shorter breaks, 1–2 weeks is usually enough. Connecting early also gives you time for a pre-meeting walk.

What if something goes wrong while I'm away?▾

You stay in contact with the sitter throughout — Guauly's messaging lets you check in and see photos. For medical emergencies, both sides share vet contact details before the stay begins. Most stays pass uneventfully; the structure is there just in case.

How do I know I can trust a sitter in Amsterdam?▾

Every sitter builds a profile with photos, a description of their home, and their experience with dogs. Sitters can also verify their identity with an ID document and a selfie, and verified sitters show a badge. Guauly does not run background checks, so read the profile, message them first, and arrange a walk before a longer stay. You choose who cares for your dog — always.
