Becoming a sitter, answered
Is it free to become a dog sitter on Guauly?
Yes. Creating a sitter profile is free. Community sitters never pay or get paid. Pro sitters only give Guauly 10% of what they earn, taken from the payout.
How much can I charge?
As a pro sitter you set your own nightly rate, in your local currency (euros in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, Swiss francs in Switzerland). Owners pay exactly that rate, with no booking fee added.
How and when do I get paid?
The owner pays when they book. Guauly holds the payment until the stay is over, then releases your share to your payout account automatically. You set up payouts in the app the first time you accept a paid request.
Do I need experience or a qualification?
No formal qualification is needed. Owners read your profile, chat with you and decide, so describe your experience with dogs and your home honestly.
Can I choose which dogs I look after?
Yes. Every care request needs your yes. You can decline any request, and declining never requires setting anything up.
Can I switch between free and paid later?
Yes, from the sitting plan on your profile, as long as no booking is in progress.
Is my address shared with owners?
No. Owners see your first name, photo, city and an approximate distance. Your phone number is only shared with the owner whose stay you've confirmed.
